Compy the Iguana.

Last week I received a commission of an iguana that had recently passed away at the age of 23. It was going to be a surprise for her husband. I greatly enjoy unique portraits of any reptiles or birds , so I was quite excited to get this one. The reference photos weren't the best, but good enough to really see what i'm working with. The portrait was going to be an 8x10 colored pencil portrait.
I'm happy with how it turned out, and Compy's owners did as well.

Painted Feathers

I have found my new obsession, painting on these different surfaces is so fun and give their own unique little challenges. I have been given goose feathers by a coworker and their larger size has opened up millions of ideas. So far I have painted a goldfinch, pheasant, and a Luna moth so far.

Also I have started doing some very unique pet portraits, just for birds and their owners. Each portrait is a bird painted on its own feathers. When someone orders this commission they send me some molted feathers from their birds and photos, I then paint said bird on its very own feathers. These portraits are truly an unique portrait that is special to each bird.

Also the website is up and running, still a work in progress though, but its getting better little by little. For knowing nothing about building a site I am very happy with the outcome so far.

Results for the art fair

Yesterday went well, sold three of my rocks. The fox, german shepherd and the screech owl were the ones to go. It was definantly a very fun experience and met some very nice and talented people. Im currently working on painting more rocks and feathers to put on etsy and to bring to the farmers market next saturday. They are very fun objects to paint on, and im also looking into painting on those giant tree mushrooms butI cant seem to find any for sale online to use, maybe I dont have the correct name for them? On other news, my website is now published and my business cards from vistaprint arrived yesterday in the mail, I absolutly love them. While the website is up it still needs a lot of work to make it more proffessional looking and up to par.

Im back

Its been a while since I've posted anything. Since last time I've completed a few pieces and ill have them posted soon. I am now going to be at the farmers market in Fulton every Saturday from 8 to 1. But this Saturday I will be at the Fulton war memorial the the art show hosted by CNYArts. I will be trying a new thing for one, testing out painting on rocks and feathers. Hopefully everything will sell well. Also since last post I have created an etsy account though there is nothing posted at the moment, whatever doesn't sell will be then posted there.
